Angelina Nyagu

Angelina Nyagu was born in 1940 in Moldavia. She directed the national research programme on reducing health effects of the Chernobyl catastrophe in Ukraine and the former Soviet Union as a specialist on neuropsychology, neurophysiology and radiation medicine.

Today Angelina Nyagu is the President of the international society „Physicians of Chernobyl“ that was founded in Ukraine in 1990 as an independent humanitarian organisation. The society offers aid to people who suffer from the effects of the reactor accident and give support to research on the social, psychological and radiobiological effects of the catastrophe.

Angelina Nyagu has taken part in many international conferences about research findings on the Chernobyl catastrophe and contributed to international studies on the health effects of the accident.
