Lars Pohlmeier, born in 1969 in Bremen, is a physician and journalist. He has been a member of IPPNW since 1991 and his main interest is in international work, particularly the field of the civilian and military nuclear threat. Pohlmeier has often attended nuclear disarmament negotiations in the United Nations as an observer for IPPNW.
Pohlmeier was the official spokesperson for IPPNW Germany in 2000. He was also a co-founder of the German IPPNW student magazine DER AMATOM and was IPPNW student representative for many years. Pohlmeier studied medicine and journalism in Hamburg, Paris, Boston und St. Petersburg. He practices in internal medicine in Bremen.
